Programs & Services

Cases des Enfants

The Cases des Enfants are youth intake centers which provide shelter, education, health services, counseling, job skills training, life skills training, and mentoring to at-risk youth ages 3-15. The Children of Africa Foundation pays particular attention to supporting children who are orphans, former child laborers who have escaped forced labor on cocoa plantations, or children of parents who have been displaced, and need to work. The objective of the Cases des Enfants is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can study, interact, learn life and job skills, and be prepared to participate in life outside of the center's walls.

Mobile Libraries

The children of Africa Foundation outfits and tours the country with "biblio-buses" that provide children in under-served and rural areas of the country with a modest choice of books to complement the literacy programs that schools and other organizations are implementing around the country.

Bingerville Maternal-child Hospital

In response to increasing rates of maternal-child mortality in Côte d'Ivoire, due to the public health challenges of HIV/AIDS, poverty, and the ravages of 10 years of civil strife (which ended in 2011), the Children of Africa Foundation, under the dedicated leadership of its President, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, launched a campaign to raise funds to support the construction and outfitting of a world-class maternal-child hospital in Bingerville. Once completed, the hospital will provide:

  • A comprehensive package of high quality mother-child services, including obstetric, gynecological, and pediatric services
  • Ongoing research and training to facilitate the continuous provision of quality services by doctors, nurses, and para-medical professionals
  • The hospital has already raised 75% of the funds needed from contributions and sponsorships from local Ivorian businesses, international NGOs and companies based in Côte d'Ivoire, and numerous private contributions from private Ivorian and European sources.
